How renting wheels works:

Image - How It Works

What you get.

Every Echappe Equipment rental, regardless of time you rent, wheel you choose or area you race, gives you three things: your wheelset, skewers and mounted tires. Your cassette is optional, and we only provide 10sp.

Length of Rental Periods.

Your rental days start on the day that you pick up or have the wheel(s) delivered. Your rental period ends on the day that you ship the wheel(s) back.

EXAMPLE: You have an event from the 5th-8th. You want the wheels delivered on the 4th and are able to return them on the 9th. The 4th and 9th are considered half days, together totaling 1. The 5th-6th-7th-8th are considered 4 rental days. Two half days with 4 rental days gives you 5 days for the rental.

Return Times: In most cases, we create a FedEx pick up from the location that the wheels have been delivered to. If your wheels are not ready for the preset pick up date, you will be billed for an additional day.

Triathletes and Early Morning TT riders: "One Day" is also considered 24 hours. So, if you want to rent something for one day, you can pick it up the night before and have back to us within 24 hours. Likewise for 2 days or 3 day rentals, which we've found IM athletes have needed to make use of.

Triathletes Specifically: If you want to pick up the wheels or helmet for a few extra days before your event, that is fine, but please note that these are counted as rental days. Please select the appropriate number of days for your rental upon checking out.

What About This Credit Thing?

One of the major reasons Gabe and David started this business was so athletes could compare products before purchasing them. You wouldn't buy a stereo before you heard it's sound quality or buy a car before you drove it, would you? What makes a $2500 wheelset any different?

This is a Rent to Own program. There are so many kinds of wheels out there, and every one has it's own attributes. We strongly believe you should be rewarded for being an educated consumer. And so, the credit system as we have it exists.

What If I Crash?

Hopefully you won't. But, if you do, we offer NO RISK Insurance for $40. If you check the box and pay the insurance fee BEFORE your race, you're good to go home- battered and bruised though you may be. If you thought you'd be frugal and you decline our insurance, you just bought yourself a pair of broken wheels. Remember, we take credit card information at the beginning of the sale. You are free to make your own decisions, but know what you're getting yourself into.

The $40 Loaner Option for final purchases

When you purchase a set of wheels through us and you pay for the Loaner Program, you are eligible to get a comparable set of wheels while yours are being serviced. Its like a car dealership.

RESTRICTIONS:

1) Disc wheels are not eligible
2) You must have purchased your wheelset through us.
3) You must have purchased this option at the time of your wheel sale.
4) You are not gauranteed your exact wheelset. Wheelsets are subject to availability
5) You must pay the weekly insurance cost for the wheelset you are given while your wheelset is being serviced. This is not an option. Most services take 10-14 days.

About Us:

Gabe Lloyd: Category 2 Road Racer, Category 2 Cyclocross Racer. Current Team: Targetraining Elite Development Team

I grew up swimming competitively for 12 years starting at the age of 4. When I was 16 I needed a change of pace and turned to cross-country running for the rest of my high school years. In those two years I was part of the regional and state championship teams in Pennsylvania - twice. After graduating high school, I went to Rhode Island School of Design. While in college, my passion for cycling slowly grew as I spent my summers in Boulder racing mountain bikes. After graduating from RISD, I picked up road riding for the first time. I was an entry-level racer at 23 years old, but I loved it and three years later I'm still riding and racing my bike. I'm now a category 2 racer. I've spent a summer racing in Belgium, raced several NRC and UCI events and am looking to continue to race at the highest possible level.

David Wiswell: Category 1 Road Racer, Category 1 Track Racer. Current Team: CRCA/Empire Cycling Team.

As a junior, I spent the majority of my time racing and training on the track in Trexlertown. I was a track sprinter and ended up my final year as a junior with a handful of second places at Junior Track Nationals and a ninth place at Junior Track Worlds. The transition to the elite world of track sprinting was a huge jump and I quickly realized I was best suited to the demands of endurance racing. Since making the switch to endurance track and road racing I have spent a couple of seasons racing over in Europe. One season I raced for a Belgian squad while my second season was spent with an amateur team out of Brittany in France. Last year I returned to the States and resumed school at Columbia University while racing for the CRCA/Sakonnet Technology U25 Team. The guys at Sakonnet provided me with the opportunity to further my cycling career and this year I signed my first professional contract with the Nerac Professional Cycling Team.
